Information and materials from C-AGG’s July 18 workshop on Double-Counting and Double-Attribution of GHG Emissions Reductions are now available on our website; including an updated background paper on the issues. The workshop addressed the issue of how to identify and reduce or eliminate the potential for double-counting of GHG offset credits, or double-attribution of claims of GHG emission reductions. Participants at the workshop assessed and defined double-counting and double-attribution; described scenarios in which double-counting and double-attribution may occur; identified real and perceived risks that may result from the occurrence of double-counting or double-attribution, and to where or whom the risk accrues; and began developing guidelines or policy guidance to reduce or eliminate the risk of double-counting or double-attribution.
